What if I told you Google is willing to give you an additional phone number you can use for your business, but the best part is, it’s absolutely free?

Not only that, but what if you also had the ability to send and receive calls, send and receive text messages, record phone calls, receive recorded voicemail (which get automatically transcribed) and these leads can automatically be added to your contact list...all free.

Why wouldn’t that interest you?

Now, of course, you have all these benefits already if you’ve got a cell phone, so why in the world would you want to use this, too?

Well, what if you wanted to have a dedicated line strictly for work?

This way you would no longer have to wonder whether or not calls that are coming in are personal or they’re related to your mortgage business.

From now on, you’d be able to give out this number, kind of like a screening tool whenever a potential lead or potential referral partner came across your path.

You could use this number on all of your current marketing collateral.

Use it in your social media profiles, including your Facebook business page (put it in your about section and in your header banner), use it on your Twitter and LinkedIn profiles (again you can display this prominently in the image banner of these accounts,as well).

Basically, you could display this wherever you would otherwise include your phone number when marketing your business.

The other good thing about this is that it allows you to track leads, like, say you’re running a paid ads online and your objective is to use those ads to generate phone calls…

Simply insert your Google voice number wherever you would otherwise include your phone number to generate inbound inquiries and boom, with the number tracking automatically built into the service you can see without a doubt whether or not your marketing and ad efforts are working.

In fact, this is a near foolproof way for you to assess the effectiveness of your advertising efforts.

No more wondering how your leads are finding you because you know if that number has been strategically placed in all the places where your prospects might otherwise find you and you want to be sure the calls are business related, that’s the only number prospects are calling.

How does that sound?

What’s more, Google also gives you the ability to also screen incoming calls, requiring a voice prompt of the users name, a whisper notification if you like (it says something like “call from user name” ← here they are prompted to include their name) so you can determine whether or not you want to take the call or forward it over to voicemail.

Better still, they allow you to take a call while the prospect is leaving a voice mail.

How cool is that?

What if you began sending a call to voicemail only to discover the person leaving the message is actually a hot prospect?

I also forgot to mention that all this happens using either your current mobile phone line or from your computer.

That means even though the call comes in via Google voice, you can take the call right on your phone as you would any other phone call on your phone, this is just a cool enhanced phone forwarding service add-on benefit that you don’t have to pay for.

I’m not sure how or why Google does this, but using this information for myself it’s not only help me be more organized with my own business but so many of my loan officer clients were so grateful to find out about this from me, as well.

For those of you that are super tech savvy, it’s worth noting that you can also make and receive calls from this new number using those new fangled Google home artificial intelligence devices.

How amazing is that?

So, with that, if you haven’t already done so, I highly recommend you sign up for a NEW google voice number (you’ll need a gmail account to do that if you don’t already have one) sync that up with your current phone number and now you have a cool new way to separate work from home.

By the way, whenever I’m asked for my phone number on any non essential or trivial forms, I usually just stick this one in there, that way if I end up on any lists, those numbers just go to spam.
